the seasons of segan's

The first offerings are spring bulbs and pansies. May comes in with its annuals, proven winners, and simply beautiful flowers spanning the spectrum of color, not to mention the perennials, vegetables and herbs growing in the sun.

Autumn and the vibrant crisp colors of mums and pumpkins greet you.

Christmastime our greenhouses fill with spectacular poinsettias, handmade wreaths, roping, and arrangements. We have so much to offer. Wreaths from 18″ to 6′. Order ahead or come in and see what we have created in hopes that you would stop by the shop. We make arrangements for the table or mantle. In memory of your loved ones we make pots, logs, blankets, and toppers.

window boxes

Our signature offering of floral decorations is our window boxes. Whether your passion is the petunia, bubbling down over your deck, or the European look of balcony geraniums cascading out your windows, we have boxes for you. Customers enjoy the convenience of bringing in their boxes at Christmas time, knowing that we will nurture a new garden over winter to be whisked away in the month of May.

Don’t like to plan next year until the spirit moves you? Well that’s great too. We’ve planned for that. We have a large number of boxes growing here that are eagerly awaiting adoption.

Sheep & goats

Raising sheep is a hobby that has gone haywire. It started when our family was young with a mere handful of lambs. We have grown into a flock of 70 ewes. This former 4-H project produces club lambs from the Dinsmore and Cabaniss lines. In 2013 we became owners of our first natural colored sheep. We now have a small flock of these beauties which has won awards are many local fairs. This year at the Pennsylvania Farm Show we had the Champion Natural Colored Ram and Ewe in the Junior Show. Our Hamp flock is still going strong. Over 20 years of selective breeding has brought us to where we are today. In January we had the honor of having the Grand Champion Hampshire Ram at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. This was a true honor as he was a ram born on our farm.
This May we started a new farming adventure with the addition of Dwarf Nigerian Milking Goats. They are adorable, friendly, and at our greenhouse for customers to visit. Peabody delivered two healthy baby boys on July 20th. Come and visit Calico Jack and his brother Bowtie. Both are friendly and love visitors.
